If someone were to ask whether I would prefer custom-made suits from my local tailor over purchasing ready-made ones from world’s biggest brands, such as Gucci, Armani, Versace among others then my answer would be yes and here’s why:
I have the opportunity of highlighting my personal style. In collaboration with the tailor, I am presented with an opportunity of going bespoke, which means being creative and I, therefore, have a chance of combining different designs and materials which finally brings out my preference in the final product. For instance, I can take advantage of color, choosing the one that befits the occasion, I can also choose collar shape, going for the one that highlights my most facial features. I also have a choice on whether to have pockets on my shirts or not. All these helps bring out a sense of individuality.
The whole point of getting tailored suits is that they fit better than any ready to wear suit could ever fit. Think about it. Ready to wear suits are made for mass consumption and the companies making them have to ensure that people of all sizes should be able to buy them. So while they come in several sizes, your size may not be a 100% perfect fit from every angle. A bespoke suit, however, is made just for you.
Bespoke tailors ensure that your measurements are taken from every angle and crevice and the suit is tailored in a way that fits you perfectly in every possible way. That is the definition of a bespoke suit and that is what makes it stand out from the rest. When it comes to suits, the fit is just as important as the brand or the design and you will find that when you’re wearing a tailor made suit, you feel more confident than ever!
Here’s an Australian sales coach Aaron Sansoni talking about the importance of bespoke suits in business:
Shopping for ready to wear suits and shirts can sometimes be cumbersome. It takes a lot of effort and time to get the perfect clothing. It can also be torturous for someone who doesn’t like shopping. But with a tailor am told when the suit will be ready so it’s a matter of waiting for the due date to come. I don’t waste time popping in and out of stores, and let’s face it, sometimes you can be too busy to afford shopping time. So if your tailor is local you can just make a call. Try Germanicos’ tailored suits as they are local in all major Australian cities and have been in the business for nearly 20 years!
Some things like quality bypass me when choosing ready to wear clothing but with custom-made quality is assured. This is because is participate in the selection of materials which also offers me an advantage of choosing materials suitable to the prevailing weather conditions. For instance, am in a position of choosing warmer fabrics for cooler weather and lighter ones for warmer weather. The bespoke tailors at Germanicos have the finest fabrics that are not available to most Australian tailors due to their connections overseas and their ability to achieve these fine materials. Also, my local tailor pays close attention to precision making spot-on adjustments in case of inconsistencies. Close attention is also paid to the number of stitches in each inch which ensures durability. This might not be guaranteed in off the rack designer suits since they are produced in masses and this close attention to detail may be limited.
